'90s rock'n'roll at its finest
Still cooling down after a scorching effort at A Day On The Green, Aussie rock legends Spiderbait have locked down a headline tour of their own for next year to celebrate a milestone of their seminal Ivy And The Big Apples LP.
Believe it or not, it’s been 20 years since their third album – which spawned timeless singles Buy Me A Pony and Calypso – hit the shelves, and to mark the occasion they’ll be playing the album in its entirety next March and April around the country. That’s 16 songs – some the band have never played live before.
“When Buy Me A Pony won the triple J Hottest 100 on Australia Day 1997, making us the first Australian band to do so, I remember feeling not only happy for the band, but happy for us Australian music lovers who now regarded their own just as highly as they rated anything from overseas,” said guitarist Damian Whitty.
The tour kicks off at Corner Hotel on March 3 before taking on the rest of the country, with tickets on sale next Monday, Nov 28, via Spiderbait’s website.
