Aussie rock icons Southern Sons are touring Australia for the first time in 25 years in February and March 2024, with a mostly original line-up of Jack Jones, Pete Drummond, Geoff Cain and Peter Bowman hitting the road.

On Friday, 16 February, Southern Sons will land at the Horsham Town Hall in Victoria before heading to The Palms at Crown in Melbourne the following night, Sale’s Wedge Theatre (Friday, 23 February), the Frankston Arts Centre (Saturday, 24 February), and ending the run at Traralgon’s Gippsland Performing Arts Centre on Saturday, 9 March. Tickets are available here and via the Music Supply website.

Next year, Southern Sons celebrate their 35th anniversary. Earlier this week, the band wrote on Facebook, “We have Southern Sons Tour Dates for 2024!!! Ladies and Gents!! We have tour dates for next year!!!! Here we come!!!!”

Drummond, filling the shoes of drummer Virgil Donati, wrote on his personal social media account, “I’m so proud to be part of this band! Jack is one of the world’s greatest singers. You have to come see Southern Sons! It’s going to be epic.”

While Southern Sons performed at the November 2019 One Electric Day event in Cockatoo Island, Sydney, they haven’t toured Australia in 25 years.

Jones spent over a decade in the US before returning home to Australia in 2018. Before the big move, he had worked with John Farnham, Tina Arena, Daniel Bedingfield, Richard Marx and more. “I know it’s a big statement, but I can honestly say I’ve never come across anyone more talented than Jack Jones,” The Music’s Jeff Jenkins wrote in a November 2019 issue of the magazine.

“He sings like an angel, and he’s also a hell of a guitarist. He’s capable of doing anything.”
