Southbound Festival Is Taking A Break This Year

1 September 2017 | 4:25 pm | Staff Writer

“This time will allow us to return with a re-invigorated festival."

Beloved South West camping festival Southbound has been a staple on the WA festival calendar over the past 13 years, but will this year take a break so organisers can focus on “some exciting new projects”.

Although Southbound was forced to cancel the January 2016 event last minute due to the devastating WA bushfires, the festival was still able to take over Sir Stewart Bovell Park last year, with organisers shifting the festival dates to late December.

“Producing such events in collaboration with our community is a huge undertaking, and one as passionate organisers we take very seriously,” organisers said via Facebook.

“This time will allow us to return with a re-invigorated festival with hopefully many more memorable years to come.”
