WA Band South Summit Perform Heartwarming Set At Casuarina Prison

"It was honestly such an enjoyable day that changed me."

Perth-based indie rock storytellers South Summit have continued their community work, performing at Casuarina Prison.

The band recently visited the prison, connecting with staff and inmates, sharing their own intimate stories of growth and transformation.

Alongside the performance, the band has put together a short clip capturing their time there, which can watch exclusively below.

Fynn Samorali of the band reflected on the experience stating, "I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to experience playing to the inmates of Casuarina, it was honestly such an enjoyable day that changed me.

"Interacting, jamming with the inmates and getting a glimpse of that perspective was a big shock to me, I have never experienced anything like that. I hope that they enjoyed listening to our music and watching us perform.

"I also hope the experience was as impactful for them as It was for us."

Isaiah Reuben also reflected a similar sentiment, "We had the opportunity to perform at Casuarina prison for a select few inmates and it was honestly one of the most eye opening and amazing experiences for me personally.

"Being given the chance to share my music with people who have limited access to the outside world and hear their stories was memorable."

Off the back of the single, the band have been named as this week's triple J Unearthed Feature Artist.
