The band have pulled the plug on their next five scheduled gigs
Soundwave-bound rockers He Is Legend have pulled out of a US tour with Californian hardcore punks Snot after their drummer, Sam Huff, was admitted to an ER in San Antonio with severe abdominal pain, later revealed to be appendicitis.
In a message posted to Facebook this morning (AEST), the band expressed their regret to fans in the cities of Austin, Tempe, Tucson, San Diego and Pomona for cancelling the performance, and consequently proved that they're some of the nicest people on the planet by committing to still attend the Austin show as punters to sign and sell merch for fans and generally have a good time out on the town.
"Sup Austin, TX, Tempe, AZ, Tucson, AZ, San Diego, CA and Pomona, CA? We unfortunately have to cancel the shows we have in your cities this week and next week," the band wrote. "Our drummer, Sam Huff, started experiencing severe abdominal pain yesterday and was taken to the ER in San Antonio where it was determined that he was suffering from appendicitis.
"He had surgery this morning and will be spending the next little while recovering at home. We apologize for having to cancel but these crazy things happen sometimes. We are just happy that he is giong to be OK. We are also glad that he caught this before it turned into something potentially real bad.

"Since we're so close to Austin, we are still going to come to the show and hang out with all of you guys, sell merch, sign anything you want us to sign and party down."
They Are Legends, if you will.
Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery for Huff. Although the band did not specify what sort of time frame is encompassed by "the next little while", at this stage at least it does not appear as though Huff's surgery and recuperation will impact on their ability to make it Down Under for Soundwave.
