Soundwave Festival Welcomes Failure (The Band)

The 2016 line-up continues to grow

Soundwave Festival's 2016 line-up is now three acts strong, with veteran but little-known US alt-rockers Failure added to the bill already occupied by Bullet For My Valentine and local legends Dead Letter Circus.

Ahead of their announcement today, promoter AJ Maddah had provided a few hints as to the third act's identity, saying on Twitter that they had never been to Australia and "may not have a huge profile".

Indeed, given Failure's longevity - they were around from 1990-1997 and reformed last year - their lack of notoriety is surprising, especially considering the quality of tunes they put out not only during their original run, over which time they released three full-lengths (1992's Comfort, 1994's Magnified and 1996's Fantastic Planet, as well as putting out an album of all-new material this year, June's The Heart Is A Monster.

Failure will join Dead Letter Circus, Bullet For My Valentine and the rest of the yet-to-be-revealed 2016 Soundwave roster on Saturday, 23 January, in Brisbane, Sunday, 24 January, in Sydney, and Tuesday, 26 January, in Melbourne.
