First 12 Acts Announced For Sound Summit

The first list of acts enlisted for the musical component of this year's Sound Summit conference in Newcastle have been announced this morning, with a healthy contingent of international acts on the bill thus far, as well as some very exciting Australian talent.

Here's a small taste of some of the acts announced so far this year:

Heading up the bill is the genre defying Americans Blues Control, with fellow countrymen Home Blitz and Mist, Outer Space & Radio People also representing the USA. Norway's  Lasse Marhaug and France's High Wolf close out the international part of the bill.

There is, of course, plenty of incredible Australian music to be showcased as well, some of the most innovative bands in the country descending upon Newcastle to show off their considerable talents including Straight Arrows, Mad Nanna, Twerps, Eastlink, Rites Wild and Oren Ambarchi.

The festival takes place from Thursday 27 September through to Sunday 30.The rest of the line up will be released on Friday 17 August, the same day as tickets for the festival go on sale.
