Sonic Creator Confirms Michael Jackson Composed Music For Sonic 3

The Sonic Origins remaster of Sonic 3 already confirmed that it would not include Jackson's alleged musical creations, choosing a new arrangement from Jun Senoue.

Former head of Sonic Team, Yuji Naka has confirmed that Michael Jackson composed some of the music on Sonic The Hedgehog 3.

In a tweet posted today, Naka confirmed the long-running rumour that Jackson created music for the game. “Oh my god, the music for Sonic 3 has changed, even though Sega Official uses Michael Jackson’s music,” he tweeted. 

Jackson's involvement in the creation of the Sonic The Hedgehog 3 soundtrack has been a long, fan favourite myth since the game released in 1994. Many producers around the project have confirmed that they did work with Jackson when creating the soundtrack, however, not until now has someone from Sega confirmed the connection.

In the tweet, he references Sega's decision to change the music of the re-release of Sonic The Hedgehog 3 as a part of its re-release in Sonic Origins.

One of the major changes includes to song Carnival Night Zone, which is one of the songs Jackson most likely created. Many people suggest that songs on the original soundtrack sound unmistakably similar to some of his hit singles, including Smooth Criminal and Black or White.
