The funny continues off field
Singer and satirist Denis Carnahan is taking his interactive musical show, Rugby League: The Musical, on the road with a massive Aus/NZ tour this winter.
Carnahan's way with words manages to induct even the least sporty person into the world of rugby league. Just like the sport itself, the show — which we caught, and loved, back at this year's Melbourne International Comedy Festival back in March — promises larger-than-life characters, melodrama, villains, farce, betrayals, controversies and pantomime.
Carnahan came to prominence through his viral hit State Of Origin song, That’s In Queensland. He is also behind many other tunes for ABC Grandstand, Fire-Up! on FBi, Triple M’s Grill Team, Fox Sports and The Footy Show.
The 35-date tour kicks off in Dubbo on 19 July, and makes it way around the country, ending on the Gold Coast on 7 September. Carnahan will also play two shows in Auckland on 9 and 10 September. All shows are on sale now, with more information available on the Frontier Touring website.
