More Solange More Solange

Following her visit to Australia last year in support of VIVID Live, US songwriter Solange has announced she will return to the country next year to perform four exclusive shows at the iconic Sydney Opera House.

The Houston-born artist will head to Sydney next January in support of her March-released fourth album When I Get Home which cracked The Music's top 30 albums of 2019 (so far) list.

"Having never before played an arts institution twice, I am incredibly honoured Solange has chosen to return to the Sydney Opera House this summer for her only Australian shows," Sydney Opera House's Head of Contemporary Music, Ben Marshall, said.

"Her incendiary combination of political incisiveness, cultural weight and sheer musical brilliance has carried her to a singular and inspiring place in today’s artistic landscape.

"Solange’s seismic live appearances at Vivid LIVE last year blew the roof off the Concert Hall to universal critical acclaim and instantly sold out. With her beautiful new album When I Get Home, the themes of blackness, empowerment and womanhood inhabit a freer, even more personal space centred on feelings of belonging, origins and the nature of home.
