'It's wild that smash mouth's car seat headrest cover is as good as it is.'
The internet has delivered a treat today because everyone’s favourite all-stars Smash Mouth are finally debuting their long-awaited cover of Washington indie outfit Car Seat Headrest’s Something Soon.
ICYMI, there has been a beautiful friendship brewing between the two bands since Smash Mouth tweeted that Drunk Drivers/Killers Whales was “One of the best songs of 2016 point blank!” in August 2016.
Then, just last month Car Seat Headrest lead singer Will Toledo set the rumour mill ablaze, confirming to triple j’s Veronica & Lewis that "...something will happen with that in the future".
Well, the future is here and it’s bright, despite the constant scoffing at the idea, when Smash Mouth’s track dropped today on US radio station SiriusXMU the internet conceded that what they had created was actually…pretty damn good.
