As Naarm/Melbourne rockers Slowly Slowly gear up to release their new album, Forgiving Spree, the band have today unveiled the latest preview of the record with new single, Love Letters.

Released today, Friday, October 25th, the track is described as frontman Ben Stewart's take on “a big, romantic bop”, with the lyrics serving as a “tender homage to the timeless tradition of sending and receiving handwritten love letters”.

As Stewart notes, his way of conveying love is through the music he writes, with Love Letters celebrating that notion as a way of joyously celebrating the essence of heartfelt communication in the digital age.

It’s a slicky-produced anthem for Slowly Slowly, which features irresistible elements of classic ‘90s pop at play, albeit filtered through a modern lens reminiscent of artists such as The 1975.

Love Letters is just the latest achievement in a big year of wins for Slowly Slowly. Following the release of Ben Stewart’s Pushing Daylight album in April, the band began teasing their long-awaited fifth album with the arrival of Gimme The Wrench in June.

On the local front, Slowly Slowly will also be hitting a number of festivals in the new year, with appearances at Tasmania’s Party In The Paddock in February and Wollongong's Yours And Owls in March.
