Simon Okely has been a busy bee

Melburnian singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Slow Dancer (Simon Okely to his family) has penned a trifecta of deals, announcing that he has signed to Aussie tastemakers Pieater, as well as overseas deals with ATO Records and Secretly Canadian.

Okely will join the likes of Big Scary and Airling on Pieater, and will release new single Don't Believe on the Melbourne-based label and management company.

Meanwhile, ATO Records will serve as his US label, with Okely celebrating the new deal by touring with new labelmate Margaret Glaspy. Okely has also signed a publishing deal with renowned company Secretly Canadian, home to Aussies like Alex Cameron and Ben Abraham and internationals such as Anohni, Yoko Ono and The War On Drugs.

Okely tells The Music, "It's a real privilege to be warmly welcomed into the Pieater and ATO Records families this week. I feel important about retaining my freedom as an artist and I couldn't be more pleased to have a team who understand my passion, and support it. It's hard to believe these songs of mine are taking me to the US in March and I'm very excited about the year ahead."
