Slipknot future uncertain

Grammy award-winning metal outfit Slipknot have been ambiguous about the future of their band after the tragic death of their bassist Paul Gray.

Grammy award-winning metal outfit Slipknot have been ambiguous about the future of their band after the tragic death of their bassist Paul Gray.

In an interview with NME at the Sonisphere festival in the UK, frontman Corey Taylor stated that the band's future was uncertain, because "none of us can even fathom what to do yet."  Taylor added that "It's really soon, it's really too son to tell. I mean, we're all still kind of dealing with it ... I mean, we'll just have to wait and see."

These comments from the Stone Sour frontman however seemed to conflict with what drummer Joey Jordison said in regards to Slipknot's future. In an interview whilst on tour with Rob Zombie, Jordison confirmed that Slipknot would continue to create music. He stated that the band would not be recruiting another bassist, and that "everyone actually kind of plays guitar in the band, so I think we're all gonna play bass on the record. We're not gonna have anyone come in. But live, we'll deal with that when it comes."

Gray's body was found in a hotel room outside of the band's hometown Des Moines in May, having accidentally overdosed on morphine.
