Registrations for the 2013 SLAM Day are now open, with the national live music awareness campaign gearing up for its second year.
Formed after the success of the initial 2010 SLAM Day Rally in Melbourne, where thousands of people took to the street in protest liquor licensing laws threatened the future of live venues, the date – 23 February – falls on a Saturday next year, rather than the Thursday of 2012.
The day will witness venues around the country hosting gigs for the cause, and the SLAM organisers are accepting registrations from venues and artists as of today. It is free to register.
Earlier this year over 150 gigs were held at small venues around the country.
