Skrillex's forthcoming record Quest For Fire is releasing on Friday of this week.
On his social media, he revealed that the record would land on the 17th of February while teasing some of the tracks during a Basement DJ set which he posted to his YouTube channel.
The record is the first of two to release this year. In May of last year, Skrillex confirmed he had two records on the way.
As 2023 kicked off, Skrillex released an array of singles, with many of them landing on Quest For Fire.
In the basement DJ set, the tracklist includes the previously released Rumble with Fred Again.. and Flowdan, Xena featuring Nai Barghouti, alongside 2021 singles Too Bizarre with Swae Lee and Siickbrain, Butterflies with Four Tet and Starrah and Supersonic (My Existence) with Noisia, Josh Pan and Dylan Brady.
Also featuring are collaborations with Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz, Missy Elliott and Porter Robinson.
In January of this year, Skrillex opened up on the "toughest year of his life" in a series of Tweets.
He tweeted on his birthday saying, "Had the toughest year of my life in 22, as did so many others. I literally found myself with no drive and purpose for the first time in my life."
"My mother passed away a few years back 2Nd day of Lalapalooza tour in SA. I never ever coped with it … I drank the pain away and kept going," another Tweet said.
He describes 2022 as his, "tipping point" and that he had to, "put everything on ice especially my projects/ career."
Skrillex also addresses the cancellation of his performances at Sunset and Movement Festivals, stating that, "the truth is I didn’t cancel sunset and movement festival because of my albums. It we because I was working on myself."
It was initially believed that the cancellation of the shows were due to Skrillex's double album not being finished.

As the posts continue his tone changes, looking forward in an optimistic tone stating, "For the first time in 4-5 years I’ve found a new sense of peace. It took so much work and sacrifice to get here."
"There’s my bday tweet to you all.. Turning 35 for me was realizing the are certain fucks you should not give , you’ll be more free for that."
He closed the Tweets by thanking his fans, "the support you’ve all shown over the years does mean the world and I’ll continue to work on myself and not get into a situation where I have to cancel shows / go into hiding."
