The Triffid welcomes an offical "pre-party" before the band takes over the venue for the rest of the week

More Dune Rats More Dune Rats

Fun-loving Brisbane trio Dune Rats will be spruiking Dunies Lager, their recently unveiled collab brew with Young Henrys, at a special joint party in their hometown this week as their sold-out national tour continues.

With three packed shows at The Triffid set for Wednesday through Friday this week, the Dunies are kicking off early with the free-entry pre-party at the venue tomorrow arvo from 4pm.

There will be tunes from Ratbag Records DJs, skate demos — on a custom-built, Dunies Lager tinnie-shaped skate box, no less — courtesy the legends in the Parliament Skate Crew, as well as specials on beer and burgers.

Dune Rats themselves will be in attendance to sign merch and posters and generally hang out with their fans before their on-stage commitments later this week, which carry on through not just the three shows but soldiering on through The Triffid's official after party after Friday's show too, which ticket-holders are eligible to attend.

Following Brissy, the boys are off to Sydney for another trio of shows to round out their massive Australian tour — joined as they have been this run by Skegss and The Gooch Palms — before they set off to storm their way through Canada and Europe till early June.

The only local show with tickets remaining is the final outing of the tour at the Metro Theatre on Wednesday 27 March; see theGuide for more info.
