Missed it by that much.
Shannon Noll has been forced to endure yet another runner-up placing, last night losing out in the I'm A Celebrity finale to Fiona O'Loughlin.
While the Aussie singer took the loss like a champ (after coming second in the inaugural 2003 season of Australian Idol), the future of the reality TV show could come into question after it posted record-low ratings for a finale.
As TV Tonight reports, Monday night's episode drew the show's lowest finale ratings in its four-season run.

Part two of the finale averaged 684,000, way down on last year's average of 989,000, and was easily beaten by Nine's Married At First Sight (1.26 million) and Seven's My Kitchen Rules (926,000).

However, TV Tonight has noted that by the time O'Loughlin was announced as the winner after 9pm, it won its slot at 804,000 over shows like Four Corners.
However that figure is still a record-low and a massive drop from last year's 1.06 million viewership.
Meanwhile, Noll is set to kick off a headline tour of Australia in May in support of his latest LP, Unbroken; click on theGuide for more details.
