Two deals ahead of their first tour
High energy Brisbane band WAAX have put pen to paper on two important deals as they gear up for their first ever headline tour.
The punk-rock qunitet have joined the team at Mucho Bravado for management, while their bookings will now be handled by Select Music.
Specifically, WAAX, led by vocalist and keyboardist Marie De Vita, will be managed by Mucho Bravado's Ben Preece and as he told theMusic.com.au today, the partnership was a no-brainer.
"They melted my face when I first saw them live. I heard the proposed EP and said yes immediately," Preece said.
"Every show after that haven't been steps up, they've been giant leaps. And someone at theMusic said it, I think, Marie De Vita is an utter revelation and the band's chemistry and attitude is absolutely the real deal."
Their bookings will be handled by Select's Katie Rynne, who was fell in "love at first sight" with the band at BIGSOUND in September.
The news comes as WAAX unveil the details of their debut tour. The band are playing a handful shows this December — a few will see them support Stonefield, The Delta Riggs and Apes. But the guys will also perfom their own dates in Maroochydore and Paddington, with details in theGuide and The Music App.
