"It’s a way for us to remember him."

Four years after ARIA-nominated album Tigersapp was unveiled, a second posthumous release has been announced from Australian singer-songwriter Szymon.

Following the Australian musician’s passing in 2012, Tigersapp was released in 2015 and debuted at #21 on the ARIA Albums chart before being nominated for Best Adult Contemporary Album at the ARIA Awards that same year.

Since then, Szymon’s brother, Gang Of Youth’s Donnie Borzestowski, has uncovered more new music, which will be released on November 9 on the Blue Coloured Mountain EP.

Donnie found the material while backing up Szymon’s old computer.

“It felt kind of weird in a way, ‘cause these are little gems we have as a family,” Donnie said.

“It’s a way for us to remember him, but I think they’re almost too good to not share.

“I think he was progressing in his sound and his ability. I remember a couple of months before he passed away, he handed me a CD with [new song] Yakuza on it and was like, ‘I want you to have this. I like this song. I think it’s one of my best.’”
