The Screen Music Awards are set to return this year, with comedian Denise Scott returning as host.
Taking place at Sydney's City Recital Hall on 19 November, the awards will "acknowledge the outstanding contribution of music composers across 12 categories" which includes compositions for documentaries, short films, mini-series, advertising, children’s television and feature film scores.
“Australian composers and their music soundtracks play a vital role in telling our stories, to local and global audiences," said APRA AMCOS Chief Executive Dean Ormston of the awards.
"I’m looking forward to celebrating both the local and international screen music achievements of our members with the AGSC (Australian Guild of Screen Composers)."
This year will also see the APRA Board Of Directors announce the Distinguished Services to the Australian Screen Award, which honours someone who "encompasses outstanding contribution to the Film and Television industry." Last year's award went to composer and educator Martin Armiger.
Musical director Jessica Wells will return to lead a live orchestra on the evening, who will bring to life selected works for a special performance.
Nominees for the 12 categories will be announced in mid-October.
