Scottish alternative rock icons Teenage Fanclub are returning to Australia and New Zealand in March 2024 for their first tour down under since 2019.

Led by founding members Norman Blake and Raymond McGinley, with drummer Francis Macdonald, bassist Dave McGowan and keyboardist Euros Childs completing the line-up, the group will bring the hits from the albums BandwagonesqueThirteen, Grand Prix, Songs From Northern Britain, Howdy!, Man Made, Shadows & Here, Endless Arcade, and more to their devoted Australian audience.

The tour, which will hit Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Byron Bay, Brisbane and Auckland, arrives in support of Teenage Fanclub’s new album, Nothing Lasts Forever, which drops on Friday, 22 September. You can pre-order your copy here.

The first single from their new album, Foreign Land, is a throwback to acoustic-led, reverb-drenched chill songs that we rarely hear anymore. With stunning harmonies, a groovy bass line and cheerful guitars, Childs' keyboard keeps the band floating through a euphoric expression of quiet inspiration. You can check out the music video below.

Tickets will go on sale Monday, 10 July (10 am local time) via Frontier Touring. You can sign up here for early access to the Frontier Members pre-sale, which begins Thursday, 6 July (10 am local time).

“These songs are definitely personal,” Blake stated about their new album. “You’re getting older; you’re going into the cupboard getting the black suit out more often. Thoughts of mortality and the idea of the light must have been playing on our minds a lot … When we write, it’s a reflection of our lives.”

The Music’s Steve Bell remarked about the band’s March 2017 gig at The Triffid, “A triumphant return for a band who, whilst massively respected, somehow manage to remain criminally underrated after all this time.”
