This is ridiculous.

More Taylor Swift More Taylor Swift

Living up to their reputation, scalpers have begun flogging tickets to Taylor Swift’s 2018 Australian tour for ridiculous prices only hours after they went live.

You’d be forgiven for thinking tickets don't go on sale until later this week, but they are already being swept up by scalpers taking advantage of fan pre-sale via the singer’s official website.

A Reserve Seating tickets for Swift’s Sydney show - which are being sold on Ticketek for $257.35 - have appeared on controversial reseller Viagogo for $1779 before fees, while similar passes for her Melbourne show have been jacked up to $899.

Ed Sheeran’s 2018 national tour was also targeted back in May, with some passes listed for over $3,500; an insane mark-up given the most expensive tickets at his shows were originally $164.90.

Back in August, it was revealed that Swiss-based Viagogo was being taken to court by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission for the alleged breach of Australian Consumer Law.

The Music has reached out to Viagogo and promoters Live Nation for comment.
