This is RIDICULOUS.

More Ed Sheeran More Ed Sheeran

After having a field day with pre-sale tickets last week, scalpers have rubbed salt into the wounds ofAussie Ed Sheeran fans.

General public tickets to the UK superstar's 2018 Australian tour were snapped up in just hours after going on sale yesterday and many appeared on resale website Viagogo soon after, with some tickets listed at over $2000, as noted by Fairfax.

The most expensive tickets for the shows were originally priced at $164.90, however on Viagogo, one user has listed C Reserve tickets for Sheeran's Melbourne gig at $3577 each.

Another has priced tickets in the same category for the Sydney show at $2003.

Tickets for any category are currently listed on the website for at least $200.

The news comes after WA Premier Mark McGowan vowed to renew his promise to introduce laws that would make it an offence to resell tickets for a higher cost than the original price, with fines starting from $5000.

"We have consistently argued that ticket scalping rips off genuine fans," McGowan said.

"While there are some circumstances where re-selling tickets is appropriate, we need to crack down on people who seek to make big profits from those who simply want to go to a sporting event or concert."
