More Ryan Adams More Ryan Adams

Recently re-invigorated alt-country superstar Ryan Adams has announced the release of a new box set called Live After Deaf with a mysterious Facebook post. A picture of the artwork – which appears to be some kind of vinyl box set – is accompanied by the words “Live After Deaf. Friday. This will not be repressed.” and absolutely nothing else.

UPDATE: More information has been posted on the Ryan Adams Facebook page this morning, Australian time, from someone named Val.

"Oh hey you guys, did you want more information on Live after Deaf ? OK.
144 tracks of live acoustic Ryan spread across 15 vinyl discs…with a download card featuring all 144 tracks PLUS an additional 74 digital-only bonus tracks (yup, that's a total of 218 tracks) all in a heavyweight cloth box. Super Duper limited numbers available ONLY at http://paxamrecords.com/ beginning 1:30 p.m. EST on Friday, June 15"

The title seems to refer to Adams getting back on the road after a battle with Meniere's disease, which forced him to take an extended break from touring.

Adams, who once was in support of audiences making bootleg recordings of his live shows, said that he would no longer be allowing unauthorized recording when embarking on his tour in support of latest record Ashes & Fire, promising fans that a set of recordings would be collected for official release.

He's certainly come good on that promise...

Head here to order your copy of the record at 3.30am on the morning of Saturday 16 June, AEST. There has been no price announced for the box set, but with 15 LPs, one would imagine it won't be cheap.
