Ruel is coming home to Sydney this December, today announcing a one-off show as part of the Sydney Opera House Forecourt’s On The Steps program.
The pop artist will perform at the iconic steps on Tuesday, 9 December, following the release of his forthcoming second album, Kicking My Feet.
In 2019, Ruel made history as the youngest artist ever to sell out the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall twice. He makes a landmark return this December, offering new music and all his fans’ favourites.
Frontier Members can access pre-sale tickets to the one-off event on Thursday, 11 September, at 10 am AEST, ahead of the general sale on Friday, 12 September, at 10 am AEST. Punters can find tickets on the Frontier Touring website.
Ruel said of his highly anticipated return to the Opera House, “So much has happened since I last performed at the Opera House, but honestly, those 2019 shows will always be one of my ultimate memories. That’s why going back there to perform in December is such a big deal for me.”
Kicking My Feet will be released on Friday, 17 October, via Recess Records/Virgin Music Group. You can pre-order/pre-save the album here.

Last month, Ruel dropped the first single, The Suburbs, which followed the lead single, I Can Die Now.
An emotional pop tune, The Suburbs was written by Ruel with collaborators Fran Hall (Charli XCX, Kelly Clarkson), M-Phazes (Demi Lovato, Madonna), Chelsea Lena (Sabrina Carpenter, Joji) and Elias Danielsen.
Meanwhile, for the album, he joined forces with producers Julian Bunetta (Sabrina Carpenter, One Direction), Joel Little (Taylor Swift, Lorde), Kenny Beats (Dominic Fike, IDLES), Dan Wilson (Adele, Taylor Swift, Chris Stapleton), and longtime collaborator M-Phazes (Eminem, Kehlani, Ruel’s debut album).
“It’s been pretty daunting to offer up this level of honesty in my songwriting, but seeing the way it’s already connected so personally with fans has calmed my ‘pre-album’ nerves in a huge way,” Ruel said last month. “I knew I wanted to push myself on this new album, but it wasn’t until I had to finalise the track list that I realised I’d actually made over 200 songs for Kicking My Feet.”
