Rubens Go Top Three On Albums Chart As Gangnam Style Challenges Singles

Pink leads The Killers and The Rubens

More The Rubens More The Rubens

Sydney indie pop breakouts The Rubens have managed a top three position on the ARIA Album Chart with their self-titled debut album in a week that saw a new release from Pink snatch the top spot.

As was expected, it was another major chart overhaul on the charts due to a busy September of releases, with Pink's The Truth About Love taking top spot, Big Day Out-bound The Killers's Battle Born second and The Rubens' The Rubens third. It's only in fourth that you find an album not on its release week, with Birdy's self-titled album enjoying another strong week.

Seth Sentry was another strong debut at six, while Carly Rae Jepsen could only manage eight on debut with Kiss. Last week's number one, The Amity Affliction's Chasing Ghosts, fell out of the top ten with last week's number two, The xx's Coexist, coming in at nine and last week's number three, The Presets' Pacifica, at ten.

Guy Sebastian and Lupe Fiasco continue their hold on the singles chart with Battle Scars holding number one spot this week. And as predicted, the viral hit Gangnam Style by PSY was the big mover this week, rising to two and setting itself up for a charge at number one this week.
