Matador Records have announced initial details of their Singles Club for 2013 - called Singles Going Home Alone - and it seems that next year's selection of releases will have a particularly Australian bent to it.
The iconic indie label, which is based in New York, have today announced the first six releases to be issued in the 13-part series with a whole heap of Aussie acts in this first announcement.
Melbourne bands Dick Diver and Lower Plenty will be releasing a split 7" single, fellow Melburnians Bits Of Shit will release a single after that, while much-loved Sydney band Royal Headache were the sixth band announced to be a part of the series.
The Aussie acts share the space with the likes of indie legends Superchunk, Cheap Time founder Jeffrey Novak and Irish performer Cian Nugent.
The first six releases are as follows:
Jeffrey Novak – I Never Knew I Knew So Much / B-7
Superchunk – I Hate History / Glue
Cian Nugent – TBA
Lower Plenty / Dick Diver – split 7″
Bits Of Shit – TBA
Royal Headache - TBA
The singles collection is limited to 700 copies and is available for order on the Matador website right now.
