More Rod Stewart More Rod Stewart

So, here's something you might not know - Rod Stewart is sick for model trains. So much so that he's just donated £10,000 (around $18,500 AUD) to a train club that had their display trashed.

According to The Guardian, the singer made the donation after the Market Deeping Model Railway Club had its display at a school in the UK destroyed by vandals at the weekend.

“I was absolutely devastated to hear that vandals had destroyed what was to be a lovely show by the Market Deeping model railway club over the weekend," said Stewart in a statement.

“It took me 23 years to build my model railway, so I feel their pain.”

Even better, Stewart has called upon fellow musicians and model train enthusiasts Roger Daltrey and Jools Holland to also make donations to the club.

Four people have been arrested following the incident and over £60,000 has been raised for the club via a crowdfunding page.
