"I'm so sorry to say my tour this year has been postponed."
Rod Stewart has today announced the postponement of his 2020 Australian tour due to "ongoing travel restrictions, border closures and the continued limitations on mass gatherings in Australia".
The legendary UK artist will now head to Australia in 2022 for his The Hits! Tour, with shows to take place in March and April.
"Hi guys, Rod Stewart here, I'm so sorry to say my tour this year has been postponed," he said in a statement.
"BUT I'll be there in 2022, March and April, and it’s going to be GREAT! Hold on to your tickets."

The tour was due to kick off in Perth on 17 October this year but will now commence on Saturday 12 March 2022 at Sandalford Estate just outside Perth.

It will then continue on to Melbourne, Hunter Valley and Sydney, with A Day On The Green shows also taking place at Geelong, Bowral and Mount Cotton.
It has also been announced that due to scheduling conflicts, the 4 November 2020 Canberra show will not be rescheduled. Ticketholders will receive an automatic refund.
Anyone who is wishing to obtain a refund for the new dates will be able to do so from their point of purchase, with applications to be submitted by 1 September at 5pm.
