Rock'N'Roll Pioneer Fats Domino Dead At 89

RIP to one of the best.

US artist and rock'n'roll pioneer Fats Domino has passed away at the age of 89.

According to The Associated Press, Mark Bone, chief investigator with the Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, coroner’s office said the beloved musician died of natural causes early Tuesday.

The New Orleans-born songwriter sold more than a reported 110 million records in his famed career and is responsible for a string of hit songs including Blueberry Hill, I'm Walkin', Blue Monday and Ain’t That a Shame.

Domino was also one of the first ten inductees of the prestigious Rock'N'Roll Hall Of Fame. 

"We’ve lowered the flag and we’re playing his music all day," CEO of the Rock'N'Roll Hall of Fame, Greg Harris, said.

"Fats is the godfather of rock and roll."

A number of figures in the music and entertainment industry have reacted to the news of Domino's passing, including Brian Wilson and Ronnie Wood.
