LA bluesy hard-rockers Rival Sons have announced two headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

Currently touring as special guests on Black Sabbath's The End Tour, the band will bring their massive live sound to The Cherry Bar in Melbourne on April 21 and Frankie's Pizza in Sydney on April 24.

Rival Sons singer Jay Buchanan said in a statement that the band are honoured to be touring with the British metal giants.

"To have this opportunity is at first unfathomable and then flattering to know we'll be in company with these bonfire legends each night," Buchanan said. "Thank you, Black Sabbath."

Rival Sons have opened for such hard rock and metal luminaries as Alice Cooper, AC/DC, Deep Purple, Aerosmith and Sammy Hagar, and will release their fifth album Hollow Bones in June through the Earache label.

They will be supported by The Ugly Kings and Graveltones at Cherry Bar and Deadspace and Logic Defies Logic at Frankie's Pizza, with more supports to be announced at the latter gig.
