Police have confirmed the drowning of a man at a Victorian beach overnight.
According to The Age, the man who passed away at Bushrangers Bay Beach on Tuesday night is Melbourne musician and youth organisation team member, JJay De Melo.
De Melo's workplace, Youth Activating Youth, shared the news of De Melo's passing via Twitter today, saying, "We are truly saddened that we have lost such an inspirational young man".

Musician Timomatic has also paid tribute to De Melo on his Instagram, sharing a picture of the artist with the caption, "Rest In Glory".
De Melo was due to support US rapper Tyga this weekend at his Festival Hall show in Melbourne. He released his debut EP, Paper Plane, in early 2018.
