The acclaimed musician will perform two standalone shows during her Australian trip next year
Lauded US performer Rhiannon Giddens — arguably best known for her work as the impossibly magnetic frontwoman of African-American folk luminaries the Carolina Chocolate Drops — has announced that she will complement her forthcoming appearance at Byron Bay Bluesfest with a pair of standalone headline shows early next year, proudly presented by The Music.
The acclaimed, Grammy-winning songstress will light up the stage at Sydney's Factory Theatre on Monday 21 March 2016, backing up to perform at Melbourne's Corner Hotel on Wednesday 23 March. The visit, along with Bluesfest, will mark Giddens' first journey to Australia, and comes in the wake of her first solo full-length effort, Tomorrow Is My Turn, which dropped back in February as a follow-up to eagerly received debut EP We Rise.
Tickets for Rhiannon Giddens' Bluesfest sideshows go on sale from 9am (AEDT) this Thursday, 29 October, via Bluesfest Touring.
