Rex Orange County Adds Extra Australian Shows Due To Overwhelming Demand

Secret Sounds have added second shows in Sydney and Melbourne for Rex Orange County’s recently announced September/October Australian tour due to overwhelming demand. Tickets to his concerts in Melbourne and Sydney sold out after going on sale this morning.

In addition to his appearances at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Saturday, 23 September and Margaret Court Arena on Wednesday, 27 September, fans who missed out on the already sold-out first shows can catch the One In A Million hitmaker in action on the following new dates: Sydney on Sunday, 24 September, and Melbourne on Thursday, 28 September. Tickets to the additional shows are on sale now.

Rex Orange County’s tour makes up for one that he was due to embark on last September, but ultimately cancelled due to “unforeseen personal circumstances”.

The last time Rex toured in Australia, it was in support of his third album, 2019’s Pony. The Music gave that record a perfect four-star review, with Carley Hall dubbing it “a straightforward listen that doesn’t bother with technical complexities”.

Rex released his fourth album, Who Cares?, last March via RCA Records. It sported three singles: Keep It Up, Amazing and Open A Window, the lattermost of which features a guest spot from Tyler, The Creator. He also dropped the standalone single THREAT in August of last year.

The album was mainly recorded in a 48-hour recording window with Benny Sings, who he wrote his 2017 platinum-selling hit Loving Is Easy With. After the two-day period, the following 10 days of work saw Rex put together his fourth album.
