You better believe it.

More Nighthawk More Nighthawk

Motor Ace were on of Australia's most successful alt-rock acts of the '00s and now the band's founding members are back in 2016 with a brand new outfit and single to match.

After disappearing from the music landscape for ten years, Patrick Robertson and Damian Costin have reunited to form Nighthawk, alongside new recruits, Flynn Wheeler and Rhys Thompson.

"The fire that compelled me to make music in the first place was extinguished by the end of Motor Ace," Robertson said.

"I was young and took every kink in the road harder than I should have. I do have some regrets about not enjoying the great music we made and our success a little more."

Motor Ace enjoyed some big chart success with albums Shoot This (peaked at #1 in 2002) and Five Star Laundry (peaked at #4 in 2001).

"Nighthawk comes from a very different place," Robertson added.

"It was a party before it was a band. There's a simplicity about the music and the attitude. I haven't felt as excited about a group of musicians and making music for a very long time. I think you can hear it."

Nighthawk have introduced themselves to the world with single Surely Gettin On' — the first offering from a forthcoming album.
