Creators of all walks of life will be thrilled to learn that registrations are now officially open for the 2025 iteration of the 10 x 10 music video project.
This Adelaide Fringe event is just what it sounds like: ten bands will be paired with ten filmmakers to produce ten music videos in a mere ten days. All Adelaide-based bands, solo artists, and filmmakers are encouraged to come together in the spirit of creation and collaboration.
The 10 x 10 project was founded by filmmaker and creator Norwood Cheek. He has worked on major films such as Bring It On, the cheerleading picture helmed by Kirsten Dunst and Gabrielle Union, and Yes Man, the comedy vehicle starring Jim Carrey and Zoey Deschanel. The event is delivered by C44 and supported by the Community Broadcasting Foundation.

Registrations close on February 16th. Ten bands and ten filmmakers will be chosen to participate - those successfully chosen will be notified on February 19th. The project will commence with a workshop at The Mercury on February 26th, presented by Norwood Cheek, C44 general manager Lauren Hillman, The Mercury exhibitions manager Ryder Grindle, and Adelaide UNESCO City of Music general manager Joe Hay.
At the end of the workshop, participants will mingle, learn more about each other’s music and filmmaking, and form ten teams. Each team will choose which of the bands’ songs they’ll use and get to work straight away on planning how they’ll shoot and deliver a music video in ten days.
A video delivery deadline is slated for March 9th. A public screening of the videos will take place on March 25th at The Jade on Flinders Street. Three of the participating bands will additionally perform live sets at the event.
