Red Hot Chili Peppers have today announced a massive shake-up to their line-up.
The group have shared that guitarist Josh Klinghoffer will be departing in a post to social media this morning. He will be replaced by former guitarist John Frusciante.
"Josh is a beautiful musician who we respect and love," read the statement. "We are deeply grateful for our time with him, and the countless gifts he shared with us."

Klinghoffer took over from Frusciante back in 2009. Frusciante had been active with the group from 1988-1992 and then again from 1998-2009.
The group were in Australia earlier this year for a huge run of shows, which also saw bass player Flea take aim at the Sydney lockout laws.
