The German-US outfit release their album 'No Hard Feeings' in early August

Berlin/New York-based electronic duo Schwarz Don't Crack are only a week out from the release of their debut full-length album, No Hard Feelings, and, to precede the LP's arrival, The Music is privileged to have some first-hand insight to the creation of the band's clip for recent single Getaway.

Describing the addictive track as being "about escaping chaos" and "rediscovering your inner voice", vocalist Ahmad Larnes says the clip "presents an idea of being trapped, but also attempting to escape from this entrapment".

The brainchild of Larnes and his creative partner Sebastian Kreis, Schwarz Don't Crack represents the unifying of two distinct backgrounds and cultures — right down to the name itself — into an exceptionally enjoyable mix of German precision and American soul and attitude, and the end result is a positively joyous thing to behold.

Watch the clip and read the Q&A with Ahmad Larnes below.

What inspired the song?

Everyone needs to get away sometimes. whether is a literal escape as in a holiday or a mental escape by shutting out the noise of bad energy. Living in Berlin sometimes, I feel the need to escape often, just to reset. Every time I leave the city for a spell, and return, I appreciate the city more. Its extremely necessary.

Any interesting Stories from recording/writing this track?

with Sebastian? Not really. I listened to a track that he created, and I instantly started writing to it. The track has a very special forward movement about it. Often times when I receive tracks from Sebastian, that are especially good, I am inspired instantly.

How did you want the single to sound at first and did that change during the recording process?

What you hear is what was originally written. Nothing has changed. I wrote the song in an hour…verse + chorus + verse+ bridge + chorus. Nothing has changed.

What would you like the listener to get out of this track?

I hope that the listener can close close his or her eyes, listen to the song, and be able to be transported to a sanctuary; a place where only their voice can be heard.

What inspired the video?

The Boys at Modest Department created the concept for the video. Originally a girl was supposed to shoot me at the end of the video, but I suggested Sebastian do it. Somewhat indicative of our relationship. He really enjoyed his role...

No Hard Feelings will be released on Saturday 6 August via Nettwerk MusicGetaway and its fellow pre-album single, All My Love, are available now via iTunes, while the album is up for pre-order.
