The seventh Queer Screen Film Festival (QSFF) hits Sydney next month and the 2019 program features 29 diverse LGBTIQ stories from across 12 countries.
Running from 18-22 September at Event Cinemas George Street, Cannes Film Festival favourite Portrait Of A Lady On Fire will kick off the festival, which won Best Screenplay and the Queer Palm at this year's event, while the Antonio Banderas and Penélope Cruz-led Pain & Glory will also screen at the QSFF.
Other notable films screening at the QSFF includes Benjamin, which premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival, as well as End Of The Century, Seahorse and the You Don't Nomi documentary, which is looks at cult 1995 erotic drama, Showgirls.
“With our theme of ‘Light Your Fire’ we are asking the audience to engage their hearts and minds and join us in witnessing passion on screen in a variety of circumstances," festival director Lisa Rose said.
"From sexy and intense romances, to passionate causes, strength in adversity, fanatical obsessions with camp classics and the incredible desire to create a family.
