Queensland Pubs Could Be Open Again In Early June

“June is a good, ambitious target."

The Queensland Government is eyeing a June reopening date for pubs across the state amid the COVID pandemic.

At a press conference earlier today, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk stated that “June is a good, ambitious target” for reopening pubs, restaurant and cafes.

“I can’t say whether it’s early June or late June but I’m going to have those discussions," Palaszczuk said.

Across the weekend, it was revealed that pubs and clubs in Victoria could reopen as soon as July if proposed operating restrictions are approved by the national cabinet.

A task force appointed by the state Government is reportedly close to finalising new measures that could see Victorian venues operate with table service rather than self-service at the bar and mosh pits banned in live music spaces.
