Including their first-ever performance in Darwin
Venerated US rockers Queens Of The Stone Age have been especially generous with their Splendour In The Grass sideshow appearances, naming three all-ages headline dates during their upcoming Australian visit for the festival.
Following a show in Auckland, the band kick off their local trip with their first-ever show in Darwin, at the Convention Centre, on Sunday 16 July, following it up with the usual stops of Sydney and Melbourne on the way to Byron Bay for the big shindig at the Parklands. Supports for the headline shows are yet to be announced.
Even four years on from their most recent album 2013's ...Like Clockwork, and three years after their massive double bill alongside the similarly titanic Nine Inch Nails, the veteran outfit are one of the most eagerly awaited drawcards at this year's festival.
Frontman Josh Homme kept busy last year by collaborating with Iggy Pop on their acclaimed album Post Pop Depression. Nonetheless, his longtime band is looking set to make 2017 something of a comeback year as they've found themselves added to an increasing number of festival bills including famed events such as Fuji Rock, Canada's Montebello Rockfest, and Outside Lands, in San Francisco.
