It is as awesome as it sounds.

Have you ever been to a karaoke bar and just wanted to hear more punk rock songs, rather than hear Bon Jovi's Living On A Prayer for the 12th time?

Well, you're in luck because thanks to supergroup Punk Rock Karaoke, you'll have the chance to sing your favourite songs with some of the genre's most beloved names.

NOFX's Eric MelvinBad Religion guitarist Greg HetsonGoldfinger drummer Darrin Pfeiffer and The AdolescentsSteve Soto form the band and are hitting Australia this February to perform shows across the country.

The band have given a pretty easy explanation as to how each show will work:

"The rules are simple: We have a sign up sheet. You pick your song. We give you the lyrics. When your song is called, come up and join the band. No, we can’t play every punk song from 1867 to present day. We hand pick our favourites from back to when dinosaurs pogoed along side with the punchers. It’s always a LOT of fun…even if you don’t sing (but know ya should)."

The tour will kick off in Sydney on 3 February, followed by shows in Newcastle, Brisbane, Melbourne, Geelong, Adelaide and Perth over the next ten days — Tickets go on sale from 9am this Friday.
