'Subtitles for XYZ' is the first EP from Sydney band CREO, but it comes with a sound much bigger than you might expect from a band so new.

'Living Under A Rock' is the segment on Purple Sneakers' FBi Radio show that pops the club tunes on hold for a minute to catch a glimpse of the best up-and-coming rock, pop, and indie tunes - stuff that's just not dance.

This time around, it's Sydney four-piece CREO, who've just released their debut EP, Subtitles for X, Y, Z. Alongside the record is a clip for the title track, directed and shot by Rod Enriquez at an abandoned, burnt-down school in Western Sydney, and a run of east coast tour dates. Engineered and produced by Nathan Sheehy (Dune Rats, Birds of Tokyo, Bluejuice), it's five tracks of soaring indie-rock that's surprisingly relatable in its epic emotiveness.

'Subtitles for X, Y, Z' is an anthemic release imbued with that indefinable quality that makes some music instantly familiar. Each track is its own whirlwind of emotion, filled with big guitars that build to rolling crescendoes underscored by a rhythm section that won't quit. Frontman Jorjee Haman's endearing vocals carry a unique timbre that helps set CREO apart from their contemporaries.
