Legendary producer Mario Caldato Jr has remixed classic The Avalanches song 'Frontier Psychiatrist'.

Aussie heavyweights The Avalanches have had one of the biggest songs remixed by a legendary international producer. 

Done exclusively for the Since I Left You 20th anniversary re-release due out on 4 June, Brazilian-born Mario Caldato Jr - who worked with music icons Beastie Boys on albums including Paul’s Boutique, Check Your Head, Ill Communication and Hello Nasty - has taken on The Avalanches' 2000 hit track, Frontier Psychiatrist; check it out below. 

Caldato Jr has also worked with other massive acts like Bjork, Beck and Yoko Ono. 

The forthcoming re-release will also feature previously-unreleased remixes by MF Doom, Sinkane, Carl Craig and Leon Vynehall.


Since I Left You was originally released on 27 November 2000. It garnered vast critical acclaim and was the winner of four ARIA Awards - Best Dance Release, Producer Of The Year, Breakthrough Artist - Album and Breakthrough Artist - Single for Frontier Psychiatrist. The track would also go on to land at #6 on the triple j Hottest 100 for 2000.

The group followed up with Wildflower in 2016 and We Will Always Love You in 2020, which saw them take out the Australian Music Prize earlier this year. 

The Avalanches will next perform in Sydney later this month in support of their east coast tour.
