A one of a kind cinematic experience.
Streatham-raised, Melbourne-based producer Jimmy Cass has completed his debut solo album, a lush study in stereophonic high fidelity sound.
Recorded and performed entirely by Cass, Chapters is an instrumental layer cake, organic and inorganic strata forming solid foundations for his analogue production.
Sonically, fans Of Cass' old outfit Men's Adventures might be surprised by his shift from feeding surf rock and Americana elements headfirst to South London muzak. However, Chapters seems a natural progression from Cass' recent work on film scores, most notably Danny Sangra's Casual Sci Fi and Goldbricks In Bloom. The unsettling swagger of latter's main theme, Keep It In The Family, especially stands out as an unofficial proto-chapter.
Likely inspired by his foray into cinema, Chapters is also Cass' first fully audiovisual project, each of the tracks complemented by surreal and often eerie film clips.
