“We are already working on new dates."

New York alt hip hop artist Princess Nokia, aka Destiny Frasqueri, has withdrawn from her Australian tour last-minute due to health concerns.

The buzz act has cancelled her slot at the Meredith’s Golden Plains festival next week and two accompanying sideshows, one of which was set to take place in Sydney this Thursday.

"Due to extreme exhaustion and health concerns from a hectic touring schedule I will be unable to make it to my shows in Australia,” Frasqueri said in a statement issued by promoters The House Of Mince.

“We are already working on new dates and I look forward to seeing all my fans in Australia this year."

The cancellation comes two weeks after the rapper reportedly punched a male audience member at Cambridge University due to a “public display of sexism and misogynoir”.

Frasqueri last toured Australia in 2013 as part of the Circo festival under the name Wavy Spice.

Golden Plains is happening March 11 – 13 at Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre with Teenage Fanclub, Nicolas Jaar, Camp Cope, Wax’O Paradiso, The Specials and more.
