Prince ProfileThe resurgence of Prince's works on global music charts isn't surprising following the music icon's death last week and the ARIA charts this week are no different, with both his albums and singles dominating the lists.
The late singer's classic Purple Rain is set to challenge for the week's top album - it peaked at #1 on the chart back in 1984 - as are his compilation albums The Hits/The B Sides (1993) and The Very Best Of Prince (2001).
Meanwhile another of his compilation albums, Ultimate Prince, is also a contender for the #1 album this week and it will be its appearance on the chart although it was released back in 2006.
Other Prince albums set to soar back into the chart include HITnRUN Phase One (2015), The Hits 1 (1993), Diamonds & Pearls (1991), Sign O' The Times (1987), Art Official Age (2014) and 1999 (1982).
The only threat to Prince possibly taking out the entire top three entries is the new debut from Australian Eurovision contestant Dami Im with Classic Carpenters which is aiming for a top three finish, while national legend Paul Kelly's Seven Sonnets & A Song is set to crack the top ten.
Rounding out the album debuts are A$AP Ferg's Always Strive & Prosper and Camp Cope's new self-titled effort.
Over on the Singles chart the results are almost identical, with nine Prince songs shooting their way back into the top 40.
His 1984 hits Purple Rain and When Doves Cry will challenge for the week's biggest single, while Little Red Corvette, Kiss, 1999, Cream, Raspberry Beret, Let's Go Crazy and Diamonds & Pearls are all set to re-enter the chart.
Aussie producer Flume also debuts his newest track Say It featuring Tove Lo this week, while Swedish duo Galantis drop No Money.
