PREMIERE: Perth Post-Rock Band Unveils New Single And Tour Details

WA trio Usurper Of Modern Medicine will take in three states in support of debut LP 'Omniliberation'

West Australian experimental electronic post-rock trio Usurper Of Modern Medicine are marking the June 13 release of their debut full-length Omniliberation with the release of new single A Jam For The Dying Sun, its accompanying, well trippy video clip, and announcement of a national tour, proudly presented by theMusic, during June and July.

Now being premiered on theMusic.com.au, A Jam For The Dying Sun gives audiences the first taste of what's in store for them on record and in the flesh: a wealth of nuance and layers and intelligence that rewards multiple listens for all the musical Easter eggs and seemingly throwaway arrangement choices that prove pivotal to a track's success. And that's just the audio side of things -- the video itself is a mesmerising study in shifting symmetry, a flowing stream of perceptual distortion that appropriately reflects the song's ebullient, ethereal mood.

Enjoy this debut public airing below:

Available for pre-order now in vinyl, CD and digital formats, Omniliberation follows the band's EPs Acid Chess (2011) and Turbo Handshake (2012), further developing their brand of energetic experimentalism first unleashed on the world four years ago and that has seen them share stages with the likes of Mono, Seekae, Wire, Holy Fuck, Lightning Bolt and several others.

The tour kicks off at Sydney's Oxford Art Factory on June 26, treats Melbourne to two shows and concludes back at home in Perth at the Bakery on July 5.
