The Music chooses one song every week as its Power Pick, shining a light on ONE Aussie song that we think has the potential to be the next big Australian chart hit.

One of the most exciting rises across the current decade has been that of Larissa Lambert, the Ballarat-born, Sydney-originating artist whose unique blend of R&B and pop has made her a commanding figure since the release of her first single in 2020.
She’s swiftly managed to amass a strong following, and has racked up multiple millions of streams across the songs in her accomplished discography to date. Now, Lambert is readying the release of her debut album, Yearning, which is slated to arrive on September 18th – just days before she makes a highly-anticipated US debut.
Last week, however, she unveiled Tunnel Vision, the latest track to be lifted from the forthcoming full-length album. As Lambert explains, however, it’s a slight departure from the dreamy etherealness of previous singles and is instead a hard-hitting cut that pairs bold performances with emotional vulnerability.

“I co-wrote this song with Trey Campbell about that feeling of being completely consumed by someone when you’re in love,” Lambert explains. “When you’re truly into a person, it’s like everything else becomes invisible and they become the only thing you can see.
“It captures that intense fixation and the way love can narrow your focus until all your attention is drawn to one person.”

CHART UPDATE
It’s another strong showing of local acts on the Radio Monitor Hot 100 chart, with Josh Fawaz’s rework of Madonna’s Like A Prayer sitting at No. 3. It’s down from the chart-topping peak, but it will be interesting to see whether the recent admission of AI usage in the track will hamper its position next week.
G Flip's Bed On Fire enters the top ten at No. 8, while Tame Impala's Dracula closes out the top 20 at No. 20 – down from its all-time peak of No. 7. Previous chart-topper Sonny Fodera's Think About Us is at No. 23, while he also hits a new peak of No. 29 for the recently-released Let Me Be In Your Arms.
Delta Goodrem also hits a new peak of No. 34 with Hologram, while Becca Hatch's Daylight Robbery jumps 35 spots to No. 40. Amy Shark's The Biggest Dick rises one spot to No. 42, while Ruel's Faking Smiles jumps 16 spots to No. 44.
Closing out the top 50 is Daine's PQC at No. 49, while Joji's The Kid LAROI-featuring Bluffin' sits pretty at No. 50 – 20 positions higher than last week.
It’s a relatively similar story on the ARIA charts this week, with just two homegrown cuts in the top 50. That includes Tame Impala’s Dracula holding still at No. 9, and G Flip’s Bed On Fire jumping two spots to No. 37.
